Town Hall Vase

The Town Hall Vase has an unusual shape and an equally unusual origin. It was created, as it were, by chance, during work on the model for the base of the Versailles Bowl. Its proportions and ornamentation deviate from the classical canon, yet from the beginning it was characterised by a natural balance of form. The shortened bowl with distinct fluting and a solid stem give it a distinct, independent character. For this reason, we decided to include it in the collection without further corrections.
