Garden Sphere - rusted steel

The original, openwork form of the Copernicus metal spheres makes this intriguing detail an eye-catcher from afar. And a composition of suitably selected plants and one or more spheres can become a garden highlight. Copernicus II spheres are made of rusted steel, in three sizes: Ø45, Ø60 and Ø75cm. They are made from solid, thick sheet metal, so they are quite heavy. They weigh 4kg, 6kg and 8.5kg respectively. For ecological reasons, the spheres are delivered flat-packed, with instructions included. A video instruction can also be downloaded below. Unfolding the spheres requires no tools. The rusted steel spheres have undergone preliminary, controlled corrosion and then covered with a light mist of clear varnish; this will not inhibit further natural rusting.
